WHY WE NEED OUR VOICE OUR COUNTRY
The tools we have to influence national policy makers are weak and ineffective:
- Polls - easily manipulated or misinterpreted
- Letters to the editor - reach a small audience, inclusion limited
- Talk radio - forces one to be a "yes" person to the host, or face a gauntlet of abuse
- Calling representatives - yes/no for legislation, no exchange of ideas
- Peaceful protest - risk assault and arrest, media blackout
- Ballot initiatives - mostly created through closed process, by political interest groups, sometimes with ulterior motives
- Voting - often for disappointing choices of candidates, who drift far from campaign promises and The People once in office
Our Voice Our Country provides a powerful new path for democracy, bridging the void between The People and our representatives -- an ongoing 'way' for The People's priorities and solutions to be heard loud and clear!
